Here is the the process of creating my visual story called
The Jewelry Box.
a visual story of a teen in the 70's and her journey of growing up. She keeps her mood ring that mom gave her, the valentine’s day card from someone special, a secret note from her bff and her future dreams in her ballerina jewelry box.
The Jewelry Box is a visual story of a 70's teen and her journey growing up with the items she keeps safe in her childhood ballerina Jewelry Box.
The flower barrette she wore in her long hair as a child.
The precious flying bird necklace her Grandmother gave her.
Or the secret folded note from her bestfriend.
You can watch her growing up and interact with her by closely looking at and exploring the details of The Jewelry Box poster.
See her Mom's mood ring she gave to her on her sweet 16.
Or the Aerosmith ticket stub from her first concert in Tulsa Oklahoma!
ATTN: The Jewelry Box NFT is available for purchase at OPEN SEAS and as part of The Jewelry Box experience, the NFT buyer will also receive the authentic 1976 ticket stub from the Aerosmith concert in Tulsa!

WATCH THE MOOD RING CHANGE COLORS!
Just for FUN I made a GIF of The Jewelry Box and the mood ring changes colors!
My favorite part of creating The Jewelry Box was searching for the objects in the jewelry box!
The gathering of items for my visual stories is always the fun part and even more fun is how excited and generous everyone is to help!
My friends and family are always there in my Visual Stories.
The process creating The Jewelry Box took over 4 months and I thoughtfully chose the items to tell her story.
Most of the items including the jewelry box are vintage 70's.
I spent a lot of time researching the time period and searching for authentic pieces.
Another fun part is writing the story!
Yes, I write a story for each of my images. It really helps give me an overall direction.
I start with writing a story line.
a teen in the 70’s and her journey of growing up.
I ask myself who is she?
How does she see herself?
Does she have a best friend?
Maybe she wants a VW Love Bug as her first car?
Creating a story line really helps me have a better focus on what items I need in the visual story.
I purposely chose earth tone colors of avocado green, mustard yellow and the blue big hoop earrings to contrast with the pink lining.
It was important to me for the poster to have a 70's vibe and so I borrowed or purchased the vintage items from friends and 70's inspired Etsy shops.
